The WVFD was dispatched to a residential fire alarm sounding at 1163 Main Street South. Upon arrival, Car 1 found no one, apparently, home.
From the front porch you could see into the main level of the home. There was a fire in the wood stove which had a glass front. There was no visible smoke. As Car 2 proceeded to do a complete 360 of the home he looked into each window and saw no smoke. The windows in the back on the home gave a clear view to the second floor and no smoke could be seen there either.
Firefighters Dave Knapp and Nick Kiessling viewed the basement window and no smoke could be seen in the basement.
Command requested from dispatch to find out if a key holder was en route to the location. Neither of the names on the contact list could be reached. Due to the fact there appeared to be no smoke in the home and the rather large German Sheppard in the home was happy to keep us on the outside looking in, the department cleared the scene without gaining access.
The department responded with Engine 4 and 10 firefighters.
