The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department created a children's fire run for the Woodbury Fall Festival on October 1st. 2017. It was non-competitive and non-scary -- just a lot of children having fun with veteran fire fighters escorting them through a run.

E. Lee King passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn (Barnes) King. Lee was born in Southbury on November 12, 1931 to Sereno and Ruth (Johnson) King.

A neighbor out for a walk alerted the occupants of this home that it was on fire. All occupants were able to leave the home before it was engulfed in flames.The first firefighter on scene lives just two doors away and reported that the structure was fully involved upon his arrival.
